Here are the top five stories in Miami today:

1. Staffing issues in the hospitality industry remain the top concern for the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association as the economy recovers from the pandemic. In Florida, while hotel occupancy is resurging“full comparative revenue is not expected to reach pre-pandemic levels until 2024,” Florida Trends reported. (MiamiToday)

2. In the early hours of Saturday morning, 15 Cuban migrants made landfall near Key West. When officials arrived, they Found 12 adult males and three adult females who used a homemade vessel to depart from Havana, the group told their rescuers. (Subscription: Miami Herald)

3.More than 18,000 acres continue to burn west of Krome Avenue near the Miami-Dade, Broward County line raining down Ashes as far north as Weston. Dry weather conditions continued to feed the blaze on Saturday. (CBS Miami)

4. Councilwoman Erica G. Avila recognized a local homestead student who won first place for her invention of a solar panel service station at a special March ceremony. The innovative idea was created by student, Anaias Burrowes, for the Block Kids Competition. The competition sponsored by the National Association of Women in Construction was held at the Airbase K-8 Center. (Miami’s Community News)

5. Miramar Police have release a Valentine’s Day robbery video where a teenage suspect was killed. It shows three teenage suspects including 17-year-old Jonovan Campos, 16-year-old Anthony Person and 16-year-old Azarya Murphy, who would lose his life in the incident. (CBS Miamii)
