Muscat: The total number of guests in three- to five-star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman was 934,255 at the end of September compared with 604,940 guests in the same period in 2020, an increase of 37.9 percent, according to statistics from the National Statistics Center and information (NCSI).

Statistics from the National Center for Statistics and Information showed that hotel revenues exceeded OMR 59.9 million by the end of September, a decrease of 11.7 percent from the same period in 2020 when revenues exceeded OMR 67 OMR were. 1 million.

The hotel room occupancy rose to 35 percent compared to 27.3 percent in the same period in 2020, an increase of 28.2 percent.

The share of Omani hotel guests rose by 115.8 percent to 619,194 by the end of September 2021, compared to 286,867 guests in the same period in 2020, followed by Asian guests 98,752 compared to 55,004 guests in the same period in 2020, an increase of 79.5 per cent and guests from Arab countries other than the GCC countries totaled 32,151 each.

29,732 European guests, 13,259 guests from North and South America, 13,452 guests from the GCC countries, 3,916 from Oceania, 2,868 from African countries and 20,933 guests from other countries by the end of September 2021.
