At least five passengers on the first cruise from New York City since the COVID-19 pandemic began tested positive for the virus.

Passengers were on board the Crystal Symphony en route to Bermuda when their PCR tests came back positive, according to Crystal Cruises
9101, -1.78%.

The COVID-positives were moved to quarantine hotels in Bermuda. The passengers and the ship were then quarantined and retested on the ship.

The 781-foot ship can carry 848 passengers, according to the companywhich wouldn’t tell how many were on board.

All the guests were must be vaccinated to board the cruise.

They departed from Manhattan’s Pier 88 on September 24th. The ship returned to New York on Friday – before turning for another voyage to the Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda.

Fares for the October 8 trip start at $ 2,099.

The Bermuda government did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
