Martial would be a wise investment given his age profile and he showed as a teenager that he could make it in Ligue 1.

The club where it all began for Martial. He joined her academy at the age of 14 and made his debut in 2009.

However, he only made a number of appearances before being picked up by Monaco.

Lyon have been linked with the 25-year-old’s return as they seek to increase their attacking opportunities.

Memphis Depay left for free this summer and has yet to be properly replaced at Groupama Stadium.

Martial reportedly turned down a loan move to the French side, who could still return with a new offer.

The German giants have to lose Erling Haaland next summer when its release clause comes into play.

Both Manchester clubs and Real Madrid are among the circles.

It’ll keep them looking for a replacement, and Martial could fill the bill. Taking a leadership role could still bring out the best in him.

United could also be smart and use the French striker to sweeten the deal with Dortmund, which will have several offers to choose from.

Having a ready-to-use replacement in front of you would undoubtedly be an attractive proposition, especially considering the quality of Martial.
