GREELEY, Colo. (KDVR) – Greeley police arrested two people Monday after five children were found alone in a hotel.

According to police, officers were called to the Clarion Hotel for possible child abuse. The caller said her five younger siblings were left alone in a hotel room for five days while their parents were in an unknown location.

According to the police, the children were between four and 16 years old.

The Greeley police reported to the hotel around 10:45 p.m. on Monday and took the five children into protective custody.

The parents, identified by police as Brooke Benavente, 34, and Victor Benavente, 37, were later found in the hotel car park and arrested for child abuse, according to GPD.

The suspects were taken to Weld County Jail for five child molestation cases. Victor was also charged with violating an injunction. The injunction banned him from anywhere near Brooke, according to the GPD.
