Texas, get ready for tourists. The summer travel season is just around the corner and as more Americans get vaccinated and COVID-19 restrictions lifted across the country, travelers looking for a safe, budget-friendly, and attractive getaway are looking to the Lone Star State.
According to a current one report On the WalletHub financial page, which lists the best summer travel destinations of 2021, the state has seven hotspots ideal for escaping the doldrums. To compile the list, WalletHub analyzed 100 of the largest metropolitan areas using 42 key indicators, including the cost of the cheapest flight to each destination and the number of local attractions.
The Austin / Round Rock / Georgetown Area was the top-rated Texas metro on the list, finishing fourth with an overall score of 70.4 out of a possible 100. The report also notes the relatively low local costs, good weather, and an array of local attractions that travelers may like to see, especially during the summer months Barton Springs Pool, the Bats on Congress Avenueand lots of outdoor activities.
That was not far behind San Antonio / New Braunfels Metro area, which landed at number 13 on the list with an overall score of 64.3. No doubt many people will swim our famous rivers there this season.
Other Texas communities that are among the best summer vacation spots to visit include:

The border town of McAllen is the only Texas destination listed in the top 5 for the report’s specific metrics. While number 5 with the highest travel costs and the most problems does not win McAllen awards, it is also number 1 with the lowest local costs.
The # 1 summer destination, according to the report, is the Orlando / Kissimmee / Sanford, Florida area, home to Walt Disney World and the Universal Orlando Resort, as well as other theme park attractions.
