96 Lincoln County companies obtain tourism, hospitality, retail restoration grants

A total of 96 Lincoln County businesses received grants from the Maine Tourism, Hospitality & Retail Recovery Grant program.

The program was funded from the federal Coronavirus Relief Fund, with the first 2,500 approved applications from eligible tourism, hospitality and retail companies in the fields of accommodation and catering. Breweries; Wineries; Distilleries; Retail trade; Art; Entertainment; and recovery.

Applicants must have gross sales between $ 24,000 and $ 12 million per year and experience a gross revenue loss of 20% or more, as compared to Maine Revenue Services on sales tax returns March 2019 through September 2019 through March 2020 through September 2020 for monthly Applicant has been reported or from April 2019 to September 2019 to April 2020 to September 2020 for quarterly filers.

In Lincoln County, 96 businesses received grants totaling $ 3,158,732.71 in aid to the county, with an average of $ 32,903.47 distributed to businesses. The lowest amount of aid was $ 2,837.29 with the highest award being the maximum of $ 36,000.

The two communities with the highest number of companies receiving aid were Boothbay Harbor (27 companies received $ 905,521.91) and Damariscotta (11 companies received $ 374,940.45).
