Cruises are making a comeback, but how many more people will there be? Sarah Buynovsky of Newswatch 16 has the story.

MOOSIC, Pennsylvania – There’s a lot of excitement but also concern from cruise enthusiasts Newswatch 16 spoke to.

“I do not feel comfortable; Maybe I’ll have one by the end of the year. I have another cruise to Alaska planned for next August ’22, “said Carol Thomas.

The CDC approved cruises from US ports in March 2020, the first since the pandemic shut down the cruise industry.

The news channel spoke to people who cruised regularly before the pandemic. Everyone says they’ll do it again, but most want to wait and see how the first cruises go.

Others cruise from various ports outside of the United States.

“Norwegian Cruise Line offers Fly One, you get one for free, so when we fly we get both for the price of one. We’re flying to Punta Cana. It’s your plane. Their guidelines are that you must be vaccinated and wear a mask so we can feel safe, “said Sandra and Joel Ostrowski, who are originally from Pittston.

Travelers say they are fully vaccinated and want other passengers and crew to be vaccinated as well before boarding a ship.

“I got sick with COVID and was very sick, and I finally got my injections so I’m so excited,” said Barbara Silveri of West Wyoming.

“I think it’ll be a lot more relaxed after the first couple of months. I agree to start cruising again. I know a lot of people aren’t. I am for anything that can bring us back into our normal everyday life and into our travels, “said Patricia Nunn from Goldsboro.
