The new discounts are available for popular Membership Rewards cards such as the Platinum Card® from American Express and for business cards such as the American Express Blue Business Cash ™ card. Card members with the American Express Platinum Card® can take advantage of high quality offers that allow you to get back up to $ 1,880 in statement credit. Here are the limited-time promotions.
PayPal account statement credit
Receive up to $ 180 ($ 30 per month) statement credit for purchases from eligible merchants using PayPal through June 30, 2021.
Up to $ 1,700 in value through Amex offers
Sign up for new Amex offers to access bank statement balances of up to $ 1,700 at selected merchants by June 30, 2021. Here are some of the featured offers:
- Avis car rental: Spend more than $ 250 on eligible purchases and get up to $ 75 back up to two times.

New Amex business offers
Amex continues to support small business owners investing in technology with its latest US business card member offerings. Eligible cardholders can expect to receive additional Membership Rewards® points or reimburse business expenses. Here are the details.
Up to 400,000 additional Membership Rewards points in back-to-business categories
Eligible Business Platinum Card members receive 5X Membership Rewards points for US purchases in the wireless, shipping, advertising, gas and office supplies categories after signing up for select Amex offers. That’s an additional 4X points on top of the 1X points cardholders already earn for every dollar spent in these categories, up to 80,000 points per category. This offer is valid until June 30, 2021.
Up to $ 250 back on eligible business purchases
Eligible Blue Business Plus, Blue Business Cash, and other Eligible Amex Small Business Card Members can receive up to ten credits of $ 25 on transactions over $ 500. This offer is valid until June 30, 2021.
30% discount on social media management solutions from Sprout Social

New Amex travel offers
Both Consumer Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders can take advantage of new hotel, flight and rental deals that help offset the $ 550 and $ 595 annual fee, respectively. (See prices and fees for the Consumer Platinum Card and the Business Platinum Card).
The Hotel Collection offers a free night or credit worth over $ 150
US Platinum, Business Platinum, and Gold card members receive a one-time free night or credit worth $ 150 or more after booking an eligible stay through American Express Travel at participating Hotel Collection hotels. Required booking and travel dates vary depending on the accommodation.
Fine Hotels + Resorts free night or credit worth $ 250 +
US consumer Platinum and Business Platinum card members can receive a one-time free night or $ 250 credit or more after booking an eligible stay through American Express Travel at more than 350 participating Fine Hotels + Resorts® hotels. Required booking and travel dates vary depending on the accommodation.
Discounts on domestic flights
Members of the Platinum and Business Platinum cards will soon be able to access lower tariffs on selected routes, flights and seats and save up to 20% on the publicly listed ticket price. These lower fares are available on participating airlines on eligible flights and seats booked between January 10, 2021 and March 31, 2021 for travel January 10, 2021 through May 31, 2021.
Pay with points for rental cars
Amex cardholders who are registered with Membership Rewards can now use Pay with Points or collect 2X Membership Rewards points for prepaid car rental bookings with American Express Travel. This benefit was announced late last year and is now in effect.
More new benefits in the works
If these benefits aren’t enough for you, rest assured that American Express will continue to introduce new offers throughout 2021.
In the coming weeks, Amex and its co-brand partners will be introducing new limited-time offers for existing consumers and businesses, Delta SkyMiles®, Hilton Honors, and Marriott Bonvoy ™ card members.
In addition, new Business Platinum Card members can expect offers in the first three months after opening an account. It is not yet clear what these offers will look like. So look forward to an update.
These new offerings show that Amex is focused on customer loyalty and attracting new card members.
