BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — In a seven-win battle between two teams, Amherst Boys Basketball and Iroquois met on the hardwood Friday night.

In the middle of the first, Josh Bugiera knocks down the three from the elbow. Tigers 10-8.

A few minutes later, Trey Kleitz shoots to Nick Mogavero, who empties the third corner. Chief’s Trail 14-11.

With just over a minute left in the first, Teddie McDuffie gets the offensive rebound and puts the putback basket off the boards. Amherst extends his lead to 18-13.

The second quarter now, Nick Moore gets it at the top of the key and drops the three to give the Tigers the 26-18 lead.

In the middle of the second, Kleitz steps forward and fires the shot from the outside lane. It’s 30-23 now, Amherst.

Under 30 seconds in the half, Moore sends it to Jayden Serotte for the three from the elbow. At the break, the Tigers led 42:27.

Amherst extends second-quarter surge to topple Iroquois 74-44.
