The Arickaree-Woodlin soccer team has a big game to close their regular season.

The Indian Mustangs, who are in eighth place in the RPI classification with a 5: 3 record, will travel to Idalia this Saturday in their regular season finale, which is in fourth place in the RPI with a 6: 2 record. Scoring stands.

“We won a nice win against Peetz, which enabled everyone in the team to have a good playing time. We now have to prepare for a very strong Idalia team that plays very good football and has to play flawlessly in order to win at Idalia, ”said coach Paul Griese.

The Indian Mustangs were at home against Peetz on Friday, where the game was slowly starting. After the first quarter, Arickaree-Woodlin only led 6-0. The local boys shot out of the box in the second quarter and scored a 27-0 quarter to take a 33-0 lead at halftime.

Peetz managed 14 points in third place, but the Indian Mustangs put up 20 of their own to score a 53-14 ball game. The Bulldogs outperformed their hosts 8-6 in their fourth game, but the damage was done. Arickaree-Woodlin took the 59-22 victory.

Junior Logan Wright completed two of two passes for 83 yards and one touchdown and had eight carries for 138 yards and three touchdowns. Senior Samuel Koolstra had one pass attempt, taking a 65-yard touchdown reception and two touchdowns to 11 carries for 133 yards. Senior Estevan Ramirez had a catch for 18 yards, a carry for three yards, and did well five out of six PAT attempts. Junior Bryce Shaffer had two carries for 22 yards and a touchdown. Freshman Jake King won 17 yards on six carries and had two kickoff returns for 87 yards. Freshman Dillon Noletubby started nine times for 334 yards. Junior Hayden Page hit 16 yards once. Senior Connor Jesse did well on his only PAT attempt.

Defensively, Wright counted three solo tackles, eight assisted tackles and one interception for a 25-yard return. Koolstra added four solo tackles, six assisted tackles, and one blocked field goal; Junior Jacob Jefferson, two solos, four assisted and one pass diversion; Second Nic Hermes, two solos, four assisted, one induced fumble and one fumble recovery; Shaffer, two solo, three assisted, one interception and one pass deflection; King, two solo and three assists; Page, one solo, three assisted and one pass diversion; Ramirez, three assisted and one fumble recovery; Noletubby, one solo, two assist and causing a fumble; Jesse, two solo; and newcomer Zarron Skubal, two assistants.
