Arlington Police are asking for help from the public in identifying a person who was taped on hotel surveillance tape and who may contain information about an ongoing murder investigation.

In early July, police officers were called to a Race Trac store at 3300 block on East Division Street near the Great Southwest Parkway where a clerk said a bleeding man came into the store around 1:11 a.m. and collapsed.

The man, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office as 59-year-old Roberto Lopez of Arlington, was rushed to an area hospital where he died shortly before 5 a.m.

Arlington police said the man was apparently stabbed multiple times.

Witnesses told police they saw the victim before being stabbed with another man. Police said a man seen with the victim was later taped on surveillance tape at a nearby hotel.

Investigators said they would like to speak to the man featured in the above photo from the surveillance video about the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity is asked to call Detective Hall at 817-459-5325 or Crime Stoppers via an anonymous tip at 817-469-8477.

Lopez’s family and friends are offering a $ 2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and charge in the case.
