Amit Shah said the state was previously known for agitation, guns and violence.

Nagaon (Assam):

Union Interior Minister Amit Shah on Thursday highlighted the transformation of Assam, saying the state was previously known for agitation, arms and violence, now it is known for development, industrial investment, education and tourism.

“Assam, which was known for agitation, arms and violence, is now known for development, industrial investment, education and tourism,” Shah said during a rally in Nagaon district.

The Interior Minister said this was the first step in a new era of development launched by Prime Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and his Cabinet Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
