New Delhi: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the detailed plan for developing Ayodhya and promoting Ayodhya as a world tourism center presented by Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath. The UP government virtually informed PM Modi about the planned community, the tourism office, the upcoming airport in Ayodhya, the development of the Saryu bank, the construction of a road connected to the temple, apart from the construction of Ram Mandir. At a virtual conference that Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath also attended, Modi described Ayodhya as a city burned into the cultural consciousness of every Indian and said that the human ethos of this city must have a futuristic infrastructure to match. A statement by the Prime Minister (PMO) at the meeting said that Ayodhya is envisaged to develop as a spiritual center, global tourism hub and sustainable smart city. At the meeting, Uttar Pradesh government officials gave a presentation covering various aspects of Ayodhya development. Take a look at the key points here.

  1. PM Modi was informed of various upcoming and planned infrastructure projects to improve connectivity with Ayodhya and various projects such as the airport, expansion of the train station, bus station, roads and highways were discussed, the PMO said.
  2. An upcoming greenfield township was discussed, which would include housing for devotees, space for ashrams, math, hotels and bhavans from different states. A tourist center and a world-class museum are also being built.
  3. Noting that Ayodhya is both spiritual and sublime, Prime Minister Modi said that the human ethos of this city needs to be complemented by a futuristic infrastructure that is beneficial to everyone, including tourists and pilgrims.
  4. Modi said that future generations should have a desire to visit Ayodhya at least once in a lifetime.
  5. The Prime Minister noted that development work in Ayodhya will continue for the foreseeable future and stressed that at the same time the momentum to announce this next advance in Ayodhya must begin now. “It is our common endeavor to celebrate the identity of Ayodhya and to keep its cultural vibrancy alive through innovative ways,” said Modi.
  6. Just as Lord Ram had the ability to bring people together, Ayodhya development work should be guided by a spirit of healthy public participation, especially the youth, Modi said.
  7. He called for the skills of talented young people to be used in this development of the city, according to the PMO.
  8. The PMO also said that particular attention will be paid to developing infrastructure around the Saryu River and its ghats.
  9. Cruises on the Saryu River are becoming an integral part.
  10. The city is being developed sustainably and offers enough space for cyclists and pedestrians. According to the PMO, traffic management should also be carried out in a modern way via the smart city infrastructure.
  11. Prime Minister Modi’s government has already approved a 100 billion yen modernization plan for Ayodhya Railway Station to connect Ayodhya with the rest of the country. Ayodhya will also have an international airport and the state government has released over 321 billion yen to purchase land for the airport under construction to be named after Lord Ram Maryada Purushottam Sriram Airport. The state government has also approved yen 1,001.77 billion to buy 555.66 acres of additional land to build the international airport. In addition, the center has also released its ₹ 250 crore contribution.

Ayodhya’s vision document

  • Officials said the government of Yogi Adityanath has hired LEA Associates South Asia Private Limited, an international consultant, to prepare a draft and vision document for the overall development of Ayodhya. It has handed over a list of 27 projects that will be implemented within the framework of the development plan.
  • The vision document proposes building four main Lord Ram gates in the city, inspired by Ram Mandir’s design.
  • The Ramayana Spiritual Forest will be built on an area of ​​2300 hectares, which will also house the Ramayana Spiritual Theme Park.
  • The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is building a 65 km ring road in Ayodhya for Rs 2588 crores.

The UP Deputy Prime Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma and several other ministers from the UP government were also present at the meeting.
