As of July 12, Thailand will be restricting business operations and flight times in accordance with Announcement No. 36

While department stores and malls remain closed, the public is allowed to conduct F&B snacks, as well as group activities with five or fewer people.

Valid from July 12th (Monday), Movement restrictions have been imposed in Bangkok according to Thailand’s Announcement No. 36 restricting retailer operations and air travel schedule schedules, according to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

Details are given below.

Flight plans

The Thai Civil Aviation Authority (CAAT) has suspended air traffic daily between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. “to reduce the risk of COVID-19 for the affected passengers and personnel”.

The suspension applies from July 12, 2021 until further notice.

Doing business by retailers

The following measures apply to retailers:

  • Food and beverage stores are only allowed to sell take-away food and beverages. The consumption of food, beverages as well as spirits and alcoholic beverages on the premises is prohibited and the shops may be open until 2000 o’clock;
  • Department stores, shopping malls and shopping malls will be closed, with the exception of supermarkets;
  • Shops selling necessary items (including tools and building materials), maintenance and repair shops, banks, financial institutions, pharmacies, communication service shops, post offices and places for vaccinations or other medical and health services can stay open for up to 2000 hours;
  • Convenience stores, night markets, night markets and pedestrian zones can be open until 8 p.m. Convenience stores, however, have to cease operations between 2000 and 04:00 the following day.
  • Public parks, sports fields, sports fields and outdoor exercise areas can be open until 2:00 p.m.
  • Traditional Thai massage and foot massage parlors, spas, beauty clinics, and health facilities will remain closed.
  • Hairdressing salons and barber shops are allowed to open, but must comply with disease preventive measures and conditions.

In addition, the administration reminded that group activities with more than five people are prohibited. Schools, educational institutions and training centers must also adhere to disease preventive measures and conditions.

“Anyone who violates this announcement or does not comply with it can be guilty of a crime,” warns the administration.
