Birmingham-based Brasfield & Gorrie recently completed work on a downtown Oklahoma City hotel project specifically aimed at professional basketball players.

The Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is a 605-room convention center located near the Convention Center, Scissortail Park, and the Chesapeake Energy Arena, home of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder.

The hotel also has 29 suites, seven restaurants and bars, the full-service Mokara Spa, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool deck.

Several design elements were aimed at visitors to the Chesapeake Energy Arena. There is 78,000 square meters of meeting space on the second floor, an outdoor event lawn on the third floor, and a boardroom on the 17th floor that can be used as a private meeting room for NBA teams to visit.

The hotel’s top 17th floor is specially designed for professional basketball players with California king beds, larger door frames, and higher ceilings and shower heads.
