To celebrate Travel Agency Day in May this year, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) will create hundreds of one-of-a-kind, personalized cartoons to be shared with Canadian travel specialists.

As a thank you to Canada’s hard-working travel business community, the JTB worked with Toronto-based cartoonist Cesar Vargas to create bespoke illustrations for 200 agents. The cartoons from Jamaica reflect the individual style and personality of each agent and are hand-drawn with island-inspired details and backgrounds.

Starting Friday April 9th, Canadian travel agents will be able to upload a smiling photo or headshot of themselves www.visitjamaica.com/canada/engage. The photos will then be converted into creative cartoon characters and emailed to agents on May 4th and 5th, just in time for Travel Agency Day. Because space is limited for this opportunity, only the first 200 agents to submit their photo will receive a personalized caricature.

“The tourism industry is full of characters and we are impressed with the passion and resilience of our Canadian travel partners,” said Angella Bennett, Canada Regional Director, Jamaica Tourist Board. “In honor of Travel Agency Day, we’re giving back to this amazing community with unique, bespoke cartoon memorabilia that we hope will bring a smile to our agents’ faces and show them how much Jamaica values their dedication and support. “
