KEVIN RAUCH / Jordan Burrows of The Express Bucktail threw this pitch just before the left field fence, giving their team three leads on Saturday afternoon on Saturday afternoon on the way to a 10-0 win over Williamson.

Bucktail hasn’t played a full seven-inning game this year as they continue to steam opponents. The Bucks did that again on Saturday afternoon, knocking out Williamson 10-0 to improve to 3-0 over the season. Bucktail junior Emma Poorman only allowed two hits and was in complete control throughout the game.

Williamson tried to take the lead early, loading the bases with two outs on top of the first. From that point on, Poorman took over the game. After defeating Karlie Kilmer to end the potential threat, Poorman only allowed one hit and two more walks for the final five innings of the game.

“It was Emma’s first full game in over two years. She threw a couple of innings here and there, I think she got stronger as the game went on. “ Bucktail trainer Mike Poorman said. “She was a little high in some of her places and didn’t have the speed in the beginning, but she really got into the middle innings.

“Once again we stick the ball through the line-up and get hits up and down the line-up. We fired the ball a couple of times today, which I really want to do if I have to. “

Provided the pitching stays solid, the hitting could be exactly what proves successful for Bucktail all season and even in the postseason.

Batters # 7, 8, and 9 – Lily Francis, Alexis Lowery, and Kayla Probert – combined four hits and four RBIs, led by Lowery’s two hits and 2 RBIs. The front of the lineup is already one of the Mid-Penn’s best, if not all the way up.

The continued emergence of the younger players could prove fatal to the bucks.

Two RBI hits become an integral part of the Bucktail Offensive as Jordan Burrows, Julie Green and Lowery each had a multi-RBI hit. Haley Burrows had two of their own. Jordan Burrow’s big hit came with two outs in the lower part of the second on a ball she sent over the head of the left fielder to make it 3-0.

While Poorman and Mackenzie Wagner were so dominant in their first three games from the hill, the defensive doesn’t have many chances to show their talents. Solid game flashes were distributed during the flawless game.

Poorman set up a flat blooper to catch on her left side and ended the doubles game with a runner who had started from the start while he was still on his knees. Haley Burrows also made a dive catch from her second base position and chased it in the grass of the right field.

“Defensively, we did all the pieces we could, some that I didn’t think we’d play, but yeah, we still don’t get a lot of work there.” Said Poorman.

The Bucks will host St. John Neumann today before heading to Muncy on Thursday to prove themselves to be the toughest test of the season.
