With several cruise lines announcing that they are removing cruise lines from US ports this summer to resume service on some cruise lines, Carnival Cruise Line has released an update on their summer travel plans.

Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy posted a four-minute video showing the cruise line’s plans for summer cruises in 2021.

Duffy said Carnival Cruise Line currently has no plans to move cruise ships away from U.S. ports so they can resume service. She went on to say that Carnival Cruise Line is America’s cruise line and they sail from 14 different home ports across the country.

Fifty percent of Carnival cruises are less than seven days, and a significant number of Carnival cruisers make their way to the port. The cruise line also carries more families and children than any other line.

Carnival Cruise Line has not made any decisions about vaccines, which are a requirement for sailing. Currently, all cruise lines moving ships away from U.S. ports to resume crossing have made vaccines mandatory for anyone aged 18 and over.

Carnival has not yet canceled cruises in June at this point and they hope they will have the opportunity to resume cruises. Those who booked on a June cruise can now cancel without penalty. The final payment dates for June cruises have been postponed to April 30th.

Duffy finished by talking about how all Americans who want the vaccine can get it by the end of May. This had made the Carnival optimistic that the trip would reopen this summer.
