Airbnb, EaseMyTrip, OYO and Yatra have created a new industry association that will help small businesses and travel and hospitality technology players.

Association for Hospitality, Technology and Industry (CHATT) will promote domestic tourism, support it in its digital transformation, act as thought leaders and run training programs.

Each member has access to all CHATT resources and benefits, including participation in year-round programs, unique business events, access to the travel technology ecosystem, including the experts and regional leaders among others.

The association includes Amanpreet Bajaj, General Manager, Airbnb – India, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan; Nishant Pitti, Co-Founder and CEO – EaseMyTrip.com; Rohit Kapoor, CEO – OYO India & Southeast Asia, and Dhruv Shringi, Co-Founder and CEO – Yatra.com.

“Establishing CHATT is a landmark decision to strengthen India’s resilient home market and support small hotel partners, homeowners and agents to expand their offerings to meet the needs of tourists, ”said Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister for and Culture (Independent Charge) at a virtual kick-off event on Wednesday.

“Technology is at the forefront of many Ministry of Tourism initiatives and we look forward to working closely with CHATT to empower the sector,” said Arvind Singh, Minister of Tourism for the Government of India.

“During the pandemic, CHATT’s founding members – Airbnb, EaseMyTrip, OYO and Yatra – supported the government’s vision to revitalize the economy. With this foundation, we want to protect the interests of small hotel, home and travel partners and become their voice, ”says a message from the new association.
