VINTON, Virginia. – A new hotel is one step closer to moving into the city of Vinton.

At the council meeting on Tuesday evening, the City of Vinton approved a purchase agreement with a developer that will allow them to begin site planning for the hotel.

City Manager Richard Peters says this was a project that was six years in development and will be a $ 12 million investment.

He believes the proceeds the Hotel Vinton will bring in will be well worth it.

“It will really help keep a lot of visitor spending within the city limits. This income can then be converted back into providing services to our residences. Repairing roads, updating sidewalks and all the things we do in local government, ”said Peters.

The hotel is on the corner of First Street and South Pollard Street, right on the edge of downtown Vinton.
