I am pleased to announce that university-sponsored trips for faculty and staff will restart from May 17, 2021 under certain circumstances. Approval for the trip should be obtained from the responsible dean or vice-chancellor. All trips are subject to tax approval and externally funded trips follow the approval process that applies to the funding source.

We continue to share responsibility for the safety of all members of our university and the surrounding community, and this includes before, during, and after any permitted travel. All travel must be conducted in such a way as to minimize the possibility of COVID-19 transmission and in full compliance with Indiana state safety guidelines for public health and destination. We will of course continue to monitor all local and national guidelines for the health and safety of PNW personnel. If circumstances change, we may have to adjust or cancel the study trips.

Approved travelers are expected to book or use Concur travel Anthony Travel, the university’s travel agency. It is always recommended that you use Concur for all travel as the university has a strict duty of care. This has the advantage that our traveling employees can be found and supported quickly in emergencies.

If a traveler finds cheaper travel and accommodation outside Concur or Anthony Travel, that traveler can accept this option and keep the appropriate records for inclusion in the reimbursement.

Approved travel expenses should be submitted using standard procedures as described in the online Travel resources.
