Carnival-owned Costa Cruises is making some changes that will focus on cuisine, tours and sustainability, along with a new logo that has already been launched on the cruise company’s online presence.

A big change for Costa Cruises

The Italian cruise line is getting a makeover with a new logo and a new focus on sustainable travel destinations. One of the most visual changes is the rebranding. The Costa logo with the two yellow funnels has disappeared. The new logo, which has already been placed on the Costa website, focuses more on the “C” symbol.

The “C” combines two different motifs in a curved, enveloping embrace: the earth in yellow in the lower part of the logo and the sea in blue in the upper part.

“Now our ships are sailing again, we have decided to completely renew our offer. The innovations are so significant that we can talk about a whole new way to travel with Costa. We want everyone who goes on vacation with us to have unique, enriching experiences and discover travel destinations in the most authentic, enlightening and sustainable way ”- explains Mario Zanetti, President of Costa Cruises. “Costa has stood for cruises for more than 70 years. At this very important time for the recovery of tourism, we wanted to make the future of cruises more responsible and more considerate for people and the environment, with the aim of bringing the sector back to constant growth before 2020. “

Costa cruises works with three of the best chefs in the world, Bruno Barbieri, Hélène Darroze and Ángel León. The trio have studied the local recipes that Costa cruise lines visit to bring the inspiring dishes to Costa guests. As a result, the shipping company has created two new experiences, the Archipelago Restaurants and Destination Dishes.

The Destination Dishes experience offers guests three menus to choose from, with each menu created by each of the three chefs. Menus will be available in the main restaurants on all Costa cruise lines.

The Archipelago restaurant is currently offered on board the Costa Smeralda but will soon be launched on other Costa cruise lines. The venue has “island” tables for a more intimate experience and is framed by copper along with pieces of driftwood and wood recovered from shore.

Another important aspect of the Costa rebranding is the onshore experience. The itineraries have been changed to allow cruise ships to travel even longer. This results in guests having peace of mind to explore destinations, including many hidden gems.
