Dear Carolina Congregation,

Thank you for your continued support to your community. Looking forward to the Thanksgiving holiday next week, we’d like to keep the community updated on tests, up hours, and updated numbers.

As the weather gets colder and more activity moves indoors, it’s a good time to remind everyone to come back to the COVID-19 community standards. If you do need to eat indoors, please limit the amount of time you spend with others and only remove your mask while you are actively eating or drinking. Follow that CDC COVID-19 Travel Policy if you are planning on leaving campus or community for the Thanksgiving holiday, and be sure to check this out Tips for navigating holiday gatherings during the pandemic. Following these instructions will help our community get back on campus and finish the semester safely.

Carolina Together testing program
We are happy to announce that the number of positive COVID-19 cases on campus continues to be very low, but we have seen the positivity rate increase from 0.31% to 0 between November 8th and 14th, 66% found. in the previous week. This increase is not unexpected compared to what we’ve seen across the state and across the country, and we’re continuing to monitor the number of cases.

Most of the positive student cases that we have identified in our community have relatively mild, cold-like symptoms. Campus Health did not receive any reports of student hospital stays due to COVID-19 this semester. We also recommend that vaccinated people test no more than once a week.

All members of the Carolina Community who have not confirmed a COVID-19 vaccination must take a test once a week. We encourage all unvaccinated members of our community to got a COVID-19 vaccine and let us know. It is not too late!
