Employees who are not fully vaccinated and who have had close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19

Whenever possible, the CDC currently continues to recommend a fourteen (14) day quarantine period for those who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19. However, the following options to shorten the quarantine are acceptable alternatives.

  • Individuals who have had close contact with a person infected with COVID-19 can be released from quarantine after ten (10) days and resume normal activities as long as they remain asymptomatic and self-monitor for symptoms for fourteen (14) days her last exposure. This includes quarantine at home, in a hotel or dormitory room or in a group quarantine facility.
  • If the diagnostic testing resources are sufficient and available to asymptomatic individuals, the quarantine may end after seven (7) days if a test is performed on the fifth (5) day of the quarantine period and the test result is received on the seventh day (7).
