The summer travel season has begun and travelers are returning to the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). CVG expects to cover 80% of 2019 passenger traffic this summer.

The busiest days for traveling on July 4th are expected to be Thursday, July 1st. and Friday, July 2nd be. The busiest times for departures are 5-7am. The busiest times for arrivals can range from noon to 2pm and late in the evening.

CVG remains the leading regional airport with the most non-stop destinations. It recently added a new non-stop service to Key West, FL; Portland, ME; and Hilton Head, SC. The most popular destinations are Seattle, Tampa / St. Petersburg, Orlando, Fort Myers and Fort Lauderdale in Florida and the Rocky Mountain region. The airport has non-stop connections to 14 different destinations in Florida with more than 200 weekly flights this summer. This is an increase of more than 50% compared to summer 2019. Below are some tips and updates for travelers for the coming week:

• Arrival at the airport at least two hours before your scheduled departure to avoid feeling rushed and missing your flight.

• Remember to bring your mask. The CDC, TSA, and the U.S. Department of Transportation continue to require masks on all public transportation, including airports and airplanes.
