Airports and airlines across the country are working together to prepare for the vacation travel season.

Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) expects November and December to be the busiest months for passenger traffic since the pandemic began. The most popular destinations are Florida, Arizona, Cancun and the Rocky Mountain region.

The busiest days for the Thanksgiving holiday are today, 11/24; Wednesday, November 25th; Saturday, November 28th; Sunday, November 29th; and Monday, November 30th

“Passenger safety is our top priority, as evidenced by our global health accreditation,” said Candace McGraw, CEO of CVG. “We encourage our passengers to visit our website, which has information, videos and links to resources that travelers can plan in advance to make them feel comfortable and safe upon arrival at the airport.”

Specific changes and updates passengers will see on CVG:

• Frequent cleaning and disinfection of high-traffic areas and touchpoints, including toilets and handrails, and aircraft (carried out by the airlines). A new product improvement at the airport is the use of SafetyNet, a two-step process in which electrostatic disinfection is carried out first, followed by an antimicrobial solution that bonds to and protects surfaces for 30 days.

• Plexiglass protectors installed at ticket counters, security checkpoints, concession sites and gate areas.

• More than twice as many hand disinfection stations in airport facilities.

• Friendly reminders for travelers to wear masks and socially distance themselves from others.

CVG continues to lead the region in providing the most non-stop destinations. CVG is currently the only airport in the region that offers direct connections to Boston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Jacksonville and Phoenix / Mesa (AZA) during the two holiday months (November / December).
