STEUBENVILLE – Explore food, travel, and culture with new e-resources added to the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County’s website.

The library now has seven new online reference sites that are free to the public. The new e-resources are obtained from World Trade Press, the Global Knowledge Co. “Every e-resource is easy to use” said PR coordinator Jennifer Cesta. “Library customers have access to travel guides for pre-trip planning, traditional recipes from abroad, and learning to say hello in different languages.

LingoLite enables users to learn basic words and phrases in 30 languages ​​through interactive, native speaker videos.

AtoZ World Food contains more than 7,000 recipes from 174 countries as well as thousands of ingredients, food cultures and reference items. According to Cesta, AtoZ is the largest food database of its kind.

AtoZ Maps Online offers more than 100,000 downloadable, royalty-free maps, while AtoZ World Travel includes 202 world city travel guides, each with 67 topics. Topics include pre-trip planning, attractions, neighborhoods, restaurants, nightlife, and health and safety.

Global Road Warrior has country guides for 175 countries around the world. It is intended for students who do country reports, travelers and anyone who wants to learn about the world and its different cultures, Cesta said.

AtoZ USA shares information about people, culture, government, history, geography, indigenous peoples, foods and symbols.

AtoZ Food America features more than 2,000 state, regional, and ethnic recipes, as well as historical and reference articles, including an ingredients section.

A library card is required to access the online databases.

The library’s new online databases are listed individually on the library’s website at www.steubenvillelibrary.org.
