On Friday, the Minister of Tourism and Antiques, Khaled al-Anani, issued a ministerial resolution setting the minimum nightly rate for five-star hotels in Egypt at $ 40 from November 1, 2021.

Ananis’ decision was made after consulting the Egyptian Tourism Association about the standardization of hotel prices.

According to a statement from the ministry, the decision is part of efforts to improve Egyptian travel destinations and the quality of accommodation and services.

The ruling stipulates that the minimum nightly rate for a hotel room in a five-star hotel is $ 40 or the equivalent in foreign currency. Four-star hotel pricing is set at $ 28 or its equivalent.
