The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team crossed Wright State 3-0 after a great second half on Sunday afternoon in Dayton.

When Wright State outplayed a player after a red card in the 50th minute, the Colonel offensive flexed its muscles.

Junior Myla Sharpless With a free kick in the 50th minute, the goal started to make it 1-0 for the Colonels against the Raiders.

EKU (4-3) kept the pressure on Wright State and took a 2-0 lead Lucy Ream found Michaela Iacono in the box and she found the back of the net.

The Colonels took a 3-0 lead after Iacono had kicked the ball into the penalty area after a corner kick and Hope Evans connect for their second goal of the season.

Wright State (2-4-1) could never do anything in the second half.

The two teams went into halftime with a 0-0 draw.

EKU defeated the Raiders 17-9 in the competition. The Colonels had nine shots on goal compared to five for Wright State.

The Colonels had nine corners versus Wright States two.

Iacono had six shots in play, five of them in the frame.

Goalkeeper in the freshman Angry crick released their first shutout of the season and made five saves.

EKU returns home on Friday when the Colonels greet Miami, OH, in Richmond to complete the non-conference part of the schedule. The game starts at 4pm and will be broadcast live on ESPN +.
