Entries open for awards scheme celebrating greatest native tourism points of interest

Participation is open to a rewards program that honors the best visitor attractions and restaurants across the region.

The Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards encompass 18 categories including the Resilience and Innovation Award for companies that have adapted to support local communities during the coronavirus pandemic.

There’s also the new Unsung Hero Award, which recognizes a person who excels in their role and deserves to be commended for their work and dedication to the industry.

The winners will be honored with the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022.

Andrea Sammons from Destination Staffordshire said:

“We were bitterly disappointed not to hold an awards competition in 2020, but we felt it was inappropriate as so many of our companies were adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Twelve months later, with the lockdown easing and optimism returning, we believe the time is right to celebrate our tourism and hospitality industries and their tremendous contribution to the growing visitor economy in Staffordshire.

“It is also an opportunity for Staffordshire companies to recognize the hard work of their teams and the only way for them to qualify for the national awards.”

Entry to the awards is free for Destination Staffordshire members or £ 100 + VAT for non-members. All applications must be submitted online at midnight on September 12th.
