Destinations where the British can go on vacation are currently limited, but that doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in vacation dreams a little – and a new list of the best spots in Europe for cheap 5-star hotel stays could be just the ticket.

In fact, research has shown that some of the UK’s favorite vacation spots, including Crete, Turkey and Portugal, are in fact some of the best travel destinations in Europe for cheap prices Luxury vacation.

It is the city of Heraklion in Crete that has been named the best vacation spot for budget, glamorous hotels at an average price of £ 79 a night for stays in 5-star properties.

Meanwhile, Turkey was also proving to be a hit, taking the next two spots in the top 10 rankings, with Istanbul and Antalya offering stays at average prices of £ 83 and £ 84 per night, respectively. (You can check out the full top 10 list below).

The new rankings were published by LuxuryHotels.com, who did a research to find out which European destinations offer the best bargains for 5-star hotel stays.

In fact, the a Five Star Hotel Directory for those who want to make their future vacation more glamorous.

If you’re in the mood for luxury stays, you might also want to put Abu Dhabi on the bucket list – the study found it was the city with the highest number of 5-star hotels in the world. (32% of the city’s hotels are rated 5 *).

Of course, vacations to these destinations are nowhere in sight for the British as they are all currently on the UK’s yellow and red lists. This means that the Federal Foreign Office generally advises against traveling and when you return you either have to isolate yourself at home (yellow travel destinations) or stay in a mandatory quarantine hotel (red travel destinations).

In both cases, this also includes performing a pre-departure test and PCR tests on days two and eight. (For amber-colored travel destinations, you can opt for a PCR test on the fifth day, where a negative result prematurely releases you from your self-isolation)
