FREMONT, Calif. (KGO) – An investigation is ongoing after a person was shot dead by officers in the parking lot of a Fremont hotel, police said.

The incident occurred at around 6:25 p.m. on Thursday at the Hyatt Place hotel. According to the police, no officers were injured.

The officers will provide additional information about the incident later that evening.

Last Wednesday, a Fremont official shot dead a man armed with a gun after a police chase that ended on Highway 84, according to the CHP.

Details of what led to the shooting are still unknown, but authorities say the vehicle the suspect was driving was stolen and linked to an armed robbery.
