Following a match at Hannibal where his offense was inactive, Fulton boys soccer’s attack was lively in his 4-0 victory against Moberly Thursday night in Moberly.

The Hornets’ swarmed the Spartans’ net, registering 34 shots (21 on goal) to Moberly’s eight (four on goal).

Fulton’s Luke Holland helped create chances, assisting in two of the team’s goals.

Holland was the provider of the Hornets’ first goal, scored by Dominick Tharp in the 13th minute. That was Fulton’s only goal heading into halftime.

After halftime, the Hornets consistently found the net, adding another three goals to their lead.

Bagging Fulton’s first goal in the second helped was Bahir Sherzad, who scored off a Ben Leslie assist in the 47th minute.

Sixteen minutes later, the Hornets’ Holland notched his second assist on Christian Mahoro’s goal.

Jayden Ayers scored Fulton’s and the match’s final goal in the 78th minute.

Hornets goalkeeper Grant Avery kept a clean sheet, saving four shots on four attempts.

“The guys did a great job of creating a lot of scoring opportunities tonight,” Fulton coach Joel Henley said. “We need to finish more of those opportunities, but creating 21 scoring opportunities is huge. We will need to continue to create those opportunities as we finish out the regular season and go into the postseason.”

Next, Fulton (11-8-1) will play Kirksville (5-9-3) on Senior Night at noon on Saturday in Fulton.
