CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In the second top-ten Ivy matchup of the weekend, No. 2 Harvard Women’s Squash (6-1, 4-0 Ivy) swept No. 9 Penn (5-4, 1-3), 9-0.
The Crimson began the day strong by grabbing the first three wins off victories from Brecon Welch, Habiba Eldafrawyand Charlotte Orcutt. Marina Stefanoni continued her winning ways, downing her opponent 3-0 to grab win four.
Ultimately the win was clinched by Binney Huffman at the no. 9 position with four matches outstanding. Quickly, the Crimson were received the sixth win off a retired match at the No. 5 positions.
For good measure, the Crimson added wins from Saran Gregory-Ngheim and Amira Singh to close out the day and secure the sweep for Harvard.
Harvard highlights
- The Crimson dominated today, sweeping all but two matches giving the Crimson a game record of 24-3.
- Stefanoni added to her season undefeated streak, improving to 7-0. Stefanoni has swept her opponent in back-to-back matches and has only dropped three games throughout the season.
- Eldafrawy, improved to 7-0 with ease, only allowing 12 points on the day, the least number given up by any Crimson player.
- Harvard continues to dominate the all-time series over Penn, upping their win streak over the Quakers to 10 matchups and the all-time record to 49-7.
