“In Texas we know that it is not our challenges that define us, but how we overcome them. The men and women of our travel and tourism industry have the future firmly in their sights by embarking on a path to recovery. I encourage everyone, both Texans and non-Texans, to visit TravelTexas.com to learn about the limitless possibilities that await those who are ready to embark on their next adventure, ”said the governor.

Prior to the pandemic, one in ten Texan jobs was created by travel, and the travel industry was responsible for the $ 169.8 billion economic impact on the Texan economy. Texas has already started seeing a recovery in travel due to hotel bookings during and since the spring break, the press release said.
