The state Hawaii Will no longer require strict pre-entry and quarantine tests for domestic travelers fully vaccinated in the US, Governor David Ige’s office announced on Thursday. Starting July 8, US visitors will only need to present and carry a CDC vaccination card to visit the islands. Those who are considered fully vaccinated are at least two weeks after their last vaccination.

“We assume Hawaii will have reached a vaccination rate of 60% on or around July 8,” Ige said in a statement. “Our residents have sacrificed and worked hard to get to that point, but we still have more work to do.” The state is hoping to reach a 70 percent vaccination rate, which Iges announced to lift all COVID-19 restrictions in the state become.
