Belfry jumped out to a big first-quarter lead against Floyd Central and went on to beat the Jaguars, 49-12, in a district matchup played at Haywood Field on Friday night.
Running back Dre Young ran for 99 yards and two touchdowns as the Pirates improved to 4-3. Caden Woolum added 73 yards and a pair of touchdown runs on just five attempts.
Quarterback Chase Varney passed for 108 yards and one score, a 51-yard strike to Steven Banks.
Floyd Central quarterback Max Martin passed for 119 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for another.
The Jaguars will host Magoffin County (2-4) on Oct. 6. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. The Pirates are idle this week before playing at Lawrence County (5-1) on Oct. 14 in a clash for the top spot in the district.
