Hyatt Home lodge to open in downtown in March

The $ 44 million, 172-unit extended stay hotel completes construction at the intersection of Civic Center Drive and First Avenue Northwest. This is the former website of the American Legion on the edge of downtown Rochester.

The Hyatt House will be located at 110 Civic Center Dr. NW, the hotel’s general manager and sales manager, announced this week.

Michael Fox takes on the role of General Manager. Fox previously served as general manager for two Minneapolis hotels – Hyatt Place Minneapolis Airport and Residence Inn-Marriott. He also served as the hotel manager at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn.

Meghann Southwick is the new hotel’s sales manager. Southwick was the community manager at Rochester A place of discovery Life Science Complex, Director of Strategic Events and Partnerships at the Rochester Downtown Alliance and event manager at the Rochester Chamber of Commerce.

The Hyatt House is the EKN Development Group’s newest hospitality project in Med City. California-based EKN, led by CEO Ebbie K. Nakhjavani, also pioneered the transformation of the former Holiday Inn Hotel on 220 S. Broadway into the Hotel Indigo. The renovated hotel that houses Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar, opened in 2020.

EKN is also developing the Eleven 02 Hotel on Second Street Southwest and 11th Avenue on the former site of Virgil’s Auto Clinic.
