((FOX BUSINESS) – Hyatt Hotels defended its decision to host the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) 2021 on Friday at a time when the political climate has become increasingly volatile, citing the belief that individuals and organizations should be able to to gather peacefully and express views.
The three-day event takes place at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, Florida and features a number of prominent Republican speakers, from lawmakers and former administrators to President Donald Trump.
A Hyatt spokesperson told FOX Business in an email that its primary goal was to provide a safe and inclusive environment for its colleagues, guests and customers.
“We pride ourselves on creating a highly inclusive environment and we believe that meeting moderation is a key element of how we work as a hotel company,” said the spokesman. “We believe in the right of individuals and organizations to express their views peacefully, regardless of how the perspectives of those who host meetings and events at our hotels match ours. Our own values support a culture characterized by empathy, respect, and diversity of opinions and backgrounds, and we strive to bring this to light through what we do and how we treat those in our care. “
