VANCOUVER, British Columbia, February 9, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Irving Resources Inc. (CSE: IRV; OTCQX: IRVRF) (“Irving” or the “Companies”) Is pleased to announce that diamond drill holes completed on the Nanko vein target have encountered high grade gold-silver vein intervals. Nanko is one of two robust vein targets at the Omui mine location, part of the Company’s 100% controlled Omu gold project in Hokkaido, Japan.

Summary:

  • Holes 20OMI-006 through 20OMI-009 are all located in the eastern portion of the Nanko target area and have tested the recently discovered venous system in different orientations to better understand the orientations of various veins (see map map in Figure 1 and drill orientation table in Figure 2). All holes encountered several sections of vein (see table below). The results include:
    • 2.39 m grading 6.77 gpt Au eq. (5.22 gpt Au and 103.6 gpt Ag) in hole 20OMI-006
    • 2.99 meters grading 4.74 gpt Au (4.34 gpt Au and 26.8 gpt Ag) in hole 20OMI-007
    • 2.00 m grading 4.37 g / t Au (3.98 g / t Au and 26.1 g / g Ag) in hole 20OMI-008
    • 1.87 m grading 10.27 g / t Au (8.88 g / t Au and 93.1 g / t Ag) and a second interval of 6.50 m grading 4.73 g / t (4.37 g / t Au and 24.4 g / t Ag), including 2.51 m grading 9.74 g / t (9.21 g / t Au and) 35.2 gpt Ag) in hole 20OMI-009.

Summary of all drill results for 2020 from Nanko:

  • Notably, every well completed in Nanko in 2020 encountered several significant vein intervals, a clear sign of a robust vein system underlying the area. This venous system is open in all directions and based on northwest projections of CSAMT resistance anomalies, the Nanko veins are believed to be connected to the extensive venous system encountered approximately 600 m to the northwest at the Honpi target.
  • At least two main vein orientations can be seen, one to the northwest and the other to the northeast or east-northeast. A structural survey of the vein system at the Omui mine location will be conducted in the first half of 2021 and is expected to guide the infill and step-out drilling programs for both the Honpi and Nanko targets for 2021.

The 2021 drilling campaign was recently launched with the mobilization of Rodren’s drilling teams to Japan in the wake of the Japanese government’s lifting of COVID19 travel restrictions. Drills arrived in Japan a few days ago and are going through a 14-day self-quarantine. The drilling at Omu Sinter will resume after the quarantine period has expired. It is planned to complete three of the four holes at Omu Sinter over the next several weeks to pursue the company’s CSAMT geophysical survey objectives.

“Remarkably, all eight diamond drill holes completed in Nanko in the second half of 2020 resulted in multiple vein stretches,” commented Dr. Quinton Hennigh, director and technical advisor to Irving. “To see such a hit rate in an epithermal venous system during premature drilling is a good sign that we at Nanko have discovered a robust, well-preserved venous system. The vein network is wide open in all directions, and we see evidence in our CSAMT data that Nanko is connected 600 m northwest to the Honpi vein network. We are pleased that the Omui Mine Site continues to show positive trajectory to exploration and discovery. We are also delighted that our drilling team was able to travel to Japan and will soon prepare our 2021 drilling campaign. “

The Omu area still has very few cases of COVID-19 and Irving continues to operate under strict company guidelines.

All of the patterns discussed in this news release are ½ split sawn diamond core patterns. Irving submitted rock samples for analysis to ALS Global, Vancouver, Canada. Au and Ag were analyzed by an AA finish fire test. Over-limit samples were examined by a fire test with a gravimetric finish. Multi-elements were analyzed by mass spectrometry after four acid digestions. Irving employees and Mitsui Mineral Development Engineering Co., Ltd. employees (MINDECO) are responsible for geological logging and sampling of the core. The Au equivalent is calculated by adding Au (gpt) to Ag (gpt) / 67.
