BENGALURU: The tourism department has received general approval from the Department of Youth and Sports Services and the Indian Airport Authority (AII) to use Jakkur Airport and five other airports for helitourism, Tourism Minister CP Yogeshwar announced on Monday.

After meeting officials from the department, he said that Jakkur is being used for landing and take-off purposes. “A circuit is being prepared for tourists all over the world. The helitourism services can even be used by VVIPs and for emergency services, ”he added. A senior tourism official said three agencies for the services were also completed.
