HAMBURG — Trey Drake passed for three first-half touchdowns, Jamestown led 27-0 at the break and the Red Raiders rolled to their fourth straight win Friday night, trouncing Frontier 48-0 in a Class A1 football game.

“From beginning to end, we dominated the game,” Jamestown coach Tom Langworthy said. “That’s not easy to do against a team like Frontier, which is traditionally a physical team.”

Drake connected with Darius Freeney twice (from 21 and 27 yards) and Colin Melendez once (from 25 yards), and Sean O’Brien scored on a 4-yard run before the game reached its midway point and the Red Raiders (4-2 , 3-0) rolled the rest of the way.

“I liked the way we played,” Langworthy said. “We were really able to run the ball and pass the ball. We screened the ball well, we played well on defense and we were winning the line of scrimmage, which is the recipe for winning the football game.”

In the second half, Jamestown boosted its lead even more, courtesy of touchdown runs by Carsen Bane (8 yards), Radon Wright (6 yards) and Aiden Senear (8 yards). Bane finished with 14 carries for 105 yards; Wright had 10 carries for 95 yards; and Drake and Isaiah Sanchez collected 27 and 26 yards respectively.

Drake completed 10 of 13 passes for 184 yards and the three TDs. Melendez caught four passes for 59 yards; Freeney had three receptions for 59 yards; and O’Brien caught three passes for 72 yards.

Ella Propheter was successful on four points after trying as Jamestown improved to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the division.

Defensively, O’Brien led the way with 12 tackles; Mason McVinney had 11; Bane and John Torres each had eight; Terrell Reese and Tyrese Wofford both had six; and Michael Boron and Aziyon Wilson-Earll each collected five.

“These kids are coachable, they’re consistent, they’re working hard and they’ve really, really brought the coaches a lot of joy, because you can coach them,” Langworthy said. “It’s all about football.”

Jamestown is back in action next Friday when it travels to Niagara Wheatfield.
