INN CROWD: The late one Karl Lagerfeld, who was a fan of The Mercer in New York and a regular at the Hassler in Rome, would have been delighted with this project: A licensing partnership with the Vanity Group in Sydney, Australia to bring an exclusive line Karl Lagerfeld Hair care and skin care facilities for high end hotels around the world.

The Vanity Group described the “great interest” of the large hotel and resort operators it turned to. The Hotel X in Brisbane, Australia, and the SO / Singapore are among the first on board.

According to Vanity’s founder and CEO Paul Tsalikis, there is nothing like having a guest check into a hotel than having a luxury product prominently displayed.

Two product lines have been developed: one based on citrus and vetiver; the other on red berries and sandalwood. Both are supplied in graphic black and white packaging, which particularly stand out on bathroom furniture made of marble or porcelain.

According to Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of Karl Lagerfeld, “Karl’s vision of hospitality was to create experiences that people would have had at home.”

The designer also dealt with home design and hotel projects. That means: A Karl Lagerfeld Hotel with 270 rooms in Macau works with the Sociedade de Jogos de Macau or SJM, the games concessionaire who is also building the Palazzo Versace Macau for his holiday destination in Cotai.

The Karl Lagerfeld brand has also signed a long-term license agreement for fragrances with Inter Parfums SA.
