SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Vaccines abound and now many Americans are back on vacation.
This weekend will be the first cruise to leave American waters in over a year for more than a year.
Travel expert Mark Murphy of TravelTribe, LLC joined Ginger Jeffries of KUSI to discuss the latest changes in travel and cruises.
Anyone sailing out of Florida doesn’t need to be vaccinated, Murphy explained, as the Florida governor has ordered that cruise lines cannot request vaccinations before boarding.
However, other cruise lines outside of Florida may require travelers to be vaccinated.
Unvaccinated travelers have to wear masks more often and are unable to visit certain areas, Murphy explained, adding that he thinks this is a terrible policy.
The rules are different for different cruises and countries, so Murphy urged potential travelers to ditch the apps and hire a human travel agent who can let you know everything they need to know before your trip.
