NIXA, MO – Kansas Wesleyan Women’s Golf started exactly where it left off in the fall semester when the Coyotes drove to Freemont Hills to a victory in the Evangel Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.

The win marks the sixth consecutive tournament win for the Coyotes, a streak that goes back to last September.

Wesleyan led wire-to-wire in the tournament Hannah Hart (FR / Ventura, California), who finished second in the tournament with a 172 and carded a pair of 86s.

Aidan Richmond (FR / Keller, Texas) finished fourth with 178 (93-85); and Mikaela Johnson (SR / Salina, Kan.) (93-89) and Kristen Sayyalinh (SO / Rockford, Ill.) (91-91) finished sixth to round off the team scorers for the Coyotes. Thalia Ramirez (FR / Leawood, Kan.) Placed 11th as a single player with a 191 (97-94).

Wesleyan finished the race with a team rating of 709 (358-351) and won with 76 strokes against the College of the Ozarks. The Bobcats shot 785. Central Methodist was third with an 801, Evangel with 806 fourth, Dordt with 850 fifth and Tabor with 935 sixth.

Central Methodist’s Cassandra Contreras was the tournament’s sole champion at 166.

The KWU is now preparing for the first leg of the KCAC championships on March 22nd and 23rd in Battle Creek in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The KWU Spring Invitational will take place on March 29th and 30th in the Salina Country Club.
