the Lake Oswego Lakers passed another test early in the season by delivering another one-sided victory.
The Lakers defeated them Sherwood archers 48-20 Friday night at Sherwood High School taking the all-important non-league win for the second straight year.
Quarterback Jack Layne threw four touchdown passes and ran for another and Gabe Olvera had two touchdown receptions and helped the Lakers (2-0) build a 35-7 cross in the third quarter.
The defense of Lake Oswego was consistently dominant, led by the imposing defensive end Gavin McGuire, who tormented the Bowmen (0-2) with three sacks and four tackles for the loss. Dylan Layne added an interception for the Lakers.
Lake Oswego beat their first two opponents – Mountainside and Sherwood – 88-27 to open the season.
