GIRLS FOOTBALL

Lancaster 10, center intersection 0: The Lady Gales opened the Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division with an overwhelming victory. The Lady Gales were strong with nine goals in the first half. Olivia George scored three goals and had two assists to take the lead. Kara Weaver and Carmen Morris each scored two goals. Lily Palmer and Marisa Heil also scored a goal. Elena White, Sienna Westbrooks and Morris each recorded an assist. Makynze Kiphart scored the only goal of the second half. Sophia Martin and Avery Westbrooks recorded their second shutout in a row.

Fairfield Union 3, Athens 0: The Falcons received goals from three different players in their victory over the Bulldogs.

Hannah George, Caroline Brown and Kenedie Barnhart each had a goal. Brown and George also each had an assist.

Fairfield Union 1, Teays Valley 0: Hannah George scored the only goal and was assisted by Kenedie Barnhart in the Falcons’ victory over the Vikings in the Mid-State League Buckeye Division. Bella Neal finished with a save.

GOLF

Lancaster competes in Grove City: The Gales attended the Grove City Invitational at the Hickory Hills Country Club. They shot 348 and finished eighth out of 17 teams. The Gales were led by Harrison Allen, who shot an 81. Riley Senften shot 82, Isaac Reif 91, and Jay Niceswanger and Jagger Snoke shot 94s.

The Gales also participated in the Golden Bear Invitational at the Zanesville Country Club. The Gales finished 15th out of 16 teams in a loaded field that shot a 352. At the top of the Gales was Senften with an 85, Reif with an 87, Snoke 89, Niceswanger 91 and Allen with a 93.

Fairfield Union girls lead Liberty Union: The Lady Falcons golf team traveled to Pleasant Valley Golf Course, outperforming Liberty Union with 180-209.

Match medalist was Addison Sharp at 40, Sydney Belville followed at 43, Brooke Brown shot 47, Abby Evans shot 50, while Mimi Thomas and Chloe Barlow both shot 54.

The Falcons finished sixth out of 12 teams at the Bloom-Carroll Invitational with a 405. Brooke Brown led the Falcons with a 98, followed by Addison Sharp with a 99.

Winchester 157 Canal, Lancaster 212: The Lady Gales fell in a non-conference dual match against the Indians.

Aubrie Bibler led the Gales with a 50, followed by Biranna Kemp (54), Olivia Griffin (56), Denise Sherrick (57) and Kara Weaver (66).

VOLLEYBALL

Bloom-Carroll 3, Amanda-Clearcreek 0: The Bulldogs cruised to a 25-9, 25-8, 25-4 MSL Buckeye Division win over the Aces.

Evelyn Brown led the Bulldogs (8-5, 3-3) with seven kills and three blocks, Caitlyn Young had 22 assists and McKenna Wiseman finished the race with 18 digs and three aces.

Grove City Christian 3, Fairfield Christian Academy 2: The Knights (4-1, 3-1) lost a tough 9-14-21

21-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, 14-16 MSL-Cardinal Division Match against the Eagles (6-2, 4-0).

Sylvia Ross had 26 points and four aces to show the knights the way. Kelly Carpenter had 19 points, four aces, 10 assists and four kills, Ella Koehler finished with 12 kills and Aubrey Speakman added 24 digs.

TENNIS

Olentangy Berlin 3, Lancaster 2: The Lady Gales lagged behind in their non-conference loss to the Bears.

At No. Singles, Mallory Thomas lost 6-2, 6-2; at No. 2 singles Lilly Robinson lost 6-1, 6-0 and at No. 3 singles Kynlee Baer lost 6-0, 6-1. In No. 1 doubles, Hannah Sheets and Gracyn Gagne won 6-3, 7-6 and in second place singles Kaylee Akers and Leah Watson won 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

Lancaster 4, Chillicothe 1: The Lady Gales outperformed the Cavaliers in non-conference action.

At No. singles Thomas won 6-0, 6-2, at No. 2 singles, Scarlett Ward lost 6-2, 6-0 and at No. 3 singles Leah Watson won 6-0, 7-4. In first place in doubles, Gracyn Gagne and Hannah Sheets won 6-1, 6-0 and in second place in doubles Lilly Robinson and Kynlee Baer won 6-0, 6-0.
