The electric caller was the first player in program history to be responsible for 30 touchdowns in two different seasons. He posted the program’s top 34 touchdowns last season, and he’s posted 21 passing touchdowns and nine rushing touchdowns this season.

Willis gave way to Hampton and Salter early in the third quarter, and both enjoyed strong appearances on their debuts.

Salter hit Brody Brumm on a 39-yard touchdown 13:29 in the fourth quarter, and Hampton found Khaleb Coleman for a 63-yard score 5 1/2 minutes later.

The touchdown passes were her only additions.

Salter rushed for 47 yards and Hampton added 30 yards on the ground.

“There’s nothing like game representatives,” said Freeze. “To see the two of them get in there with JB [Johnathan Bennett] Since I was out I thought it would be a great time to include the two of them and would have loved to see them play a little more. I thought the two did something good. It is really important to develop depth for sure. “

Olson, on the other hand, didn’t have much success in the air for UMass.

He completed 9 of 25 passes for 74 yards and Backup Garrett Dzuro failed to complete his two pass attempts.

The 74 yards are the fewest the Flames have given up since admitting to Army 61 on Sept. 8, 2018.
