LSU’s quarterback depth ahead of the 2023 season took a hit Wednesday with four-star redshirt freshman Walker Howard being set to entered the transfer portalan unexpected move that leaves the Tigers without one of their best signal callers behind starters Jayden Daniels and backup Garrett Nussmeier. Ranked as the nation’s No. 6 quarterback and the No. 91 prospect overall in the 2022 cycle per 247Sports, Howard signed with LSU in Brian Kelly’s first class in Baton Rouge over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Notre Dame and many others.
